I created this colorful stacking ring set from solid Sterling Silver. This listing is for a set of 9 rings: three sterling silver rugged stackers, two gold silk stackers, two gold twist stackers, and two gemstone stackers with a purple Iolite and purple Amethyst.
Wear them all for a super-awesome bold look, divide them on separate fingers, or only wear one or two. These rings come with endless possibilities, and also look great stacked with some of my other stacking rings!
Iolite is the gem name for cordierite, a silicate of aluminum and magnesium. Its name comes from the Greek word “ios,” meaning violet. Similar to tanzanite in color, but more affordable, this stone gets its color primarily from iron. Most iolite is found in gravel beds in the form of water-worn pebbles. Due to pleochroism or dichroism phenomena, iolite displays different colors when viewed from different angles. Iolite can appear almost clear in one orientation, then present a deep purple color in another orientation.
Amethyst displays a deep saturation of dark purple color and is one of the most popular gemstones. Amethyst is the birthstone for February. Amethyst is the best known and most valuable form of quartz. The color of natural amethyst is caused by iron or manganese compound impurities in the mineral and can range from a pale pink to a dark purple. As a crystal, amethyst is credited with relieving stress and promoting peace of mind.
Gold-filled jewelry, also known as "rolled gold", is composed of a solid layer of gold bonded with heat and pressure to brass. Gold-filled items, even with daily wear, can last up to 30 years. Gold-filled items are 50 times thicker than regular gold plating.
